Sabine is a Senior Lecturer in Languages Education at the University of Sheffield. Originally a secondary school teacher of German and French, her work now focuses on the links between multilingualism, identity, and belonging. Her creation of a multilingual children's library in collaboration with Sheffield Libraries won the international Brenda Eastwood Award for Diversity and Inclusion, and her research on Rivers of Multilingual Reading formed the basis of an activity for World Book Day 2025. Her Lost Wor(l)ds project supports teachers with integrating multilingualism in the classroom, and she is regularly called upon as a speaker and consultant, both nationally and internationally.
